Bought a used Tundra from Toyota of Berkeley and Rafael V. (Sales rep) and Melissa S. (Finance) provided a great buying experience. The buying process was low pressure and fast. The whole process only took about 2 hours (test drive, inspection and paperwork). That includes Rafael picking us up from the train station. Rafael also mailed the second key fob that they forgot to give us before we left. Highly recommended!

Editing to reflect a positive experience with the Albany location directly after a poor call center experience. Huge shout out to the mechanics and service department at the Albany location for squaring me up and assisting in getting the right parts ordered. Still docking a star based on the call center debacle but working with the staff in-person was pleasant, professional, and easy.

The experience was amazing. From rafael helping me see a few option on cars, and the financial team finalizing and even explaining in depth about warranties that i wasn’t aware of. Just super helpful and also major s/o delila the manager bc she did above and beyond fitting numbers and seeing whats fully available to help get to a number i was comfortable with. As a unit working together they made it easy, and painless bc they know a car is a big deal to close but they made it easy to say yes when they doing all they can to help you!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND !

We had been a big fan of Toyota of Berkeley where we had previously had good service with both buying and maintaining cars. However, we just did a 60k maintenance on our Highlander, which was a bad experience. Our takeaway: we no longer trust this dealer and will find an independent mechanic for our future needs. Was suppose to be a one-day service, but were informed later in the day that they needed an additional part, so would need to keep the car overnight. That delay turned into two days, then on day 3 when my wife called to pick up the car, people were extremely unhelpful and told her the person who was helping her would be back the following day. My wife finally just showed up at the dealer and found someone who was able to return the car. Lastly, we feel like we got completely ripped off, with the service costing 3x to 4x what an internet search says it should cost. We were quoted $3,300 on Monday for the standard 60k service (which is insanely expensive and more than people online report paying) a the final bill today actually came out to $3,997. Due to “computer problems,” the dealer was unable to fully produce a receipt for the obscene amount of money we spent. Can’t help but feel that they completely took advantage of my wife. Good job Toyota of Berkeley - you have lost our trust and our business.
