While driving on the freeway recently, I had the Check Engine light come on in my 2012 Volvo S60 and was able to speak to Paolo get into Benicia Motorworks quickly (my usual mechanic was many miles away) to diagnose the problem. Not only did Paolo sort out and fix the issue promptly but when the Check Engine light came on again a couple of months later, he searched out the original repair and found that a part that showed a fault had been installed and was the cause of the new problem. He repaired it and since the faulty part was still covered by his original warranty, did not charge me anything for the work. I feel like Paolo gave me impeccable service by taking the time to search out the problem and then fixing it without additional charge. I highly reccommend Benicia Motorworks for any work you may require on your European automobile.

So happy that I brought my vehicles in to Benicia Motor Works. Paulo and his team really have a passion for working on European vehicles and taking really good care of their customers. Paulo is very communicative on what is being done, and how long the work would take. The team is also very transparent on the costs when it comes down to diagnosing.

I had brought in a used Z4, and they did a top to bottom check to make sure my car is safe to drive. They repaired a few things and I had my car back in a couple of days. I then brought in my X1, and again the team was able to get my car in quickly to diagnose and repair the items the dealership failed to let me know (my brake pads were warping)!

I highly recommend this shop to anyone who cares about the longevity of their vehicles!

Needed my X3 BMW windshield wiper reservoir filled. For 3 years I have been taking it to dealer to get filled. They would top it off and in a couple of months it would need to be filled again. In addition, they were unable to reset windshield fluid low indicator light. Dealer told me it would cost $1300.00 to flush reservoir to get indicator light off. Paulo filled the reservoir. It took 1.5 gallons and told me the hose was pinched and the fluid needed to be added slowly. Indicator light is off, and reservoir is filled. Paulo provided this service free of charge. See Paulo 1st before going to your dealer and spending money on something that doesn’t need to be fixed. I trust Paulo completely, and will be getting my car serviced there from now on.

Stopped by because my truck was giving me issues , said his shop specializes in Euro but he’s happy to take a look. Help me get an idea what it needed, lucky I just had my brakes and rotors replaced by another mechanic, he said bring it back if they can’t help. Paulo and his team are seriously the BEST! I had been experiencing awful brakes issues shortly after buying my VW from a dealership. Multiple VW dealerships dismissed my concerns so I had to deal with the problem until I found Benicia Motorworks! Paulo took the time to listen to my concerns and quickly got to work on my vehicle. He and his team solved the brake issue and really took care of my vehicle. I am so glad I found this shop. It’s safe to say I will be returning for ALL of my future services and repairs!

Paulo at Benicia Motor works saved me. I had him re-inspect a car that I was in the process of buying and he not only helped me deduce the potential issues with the car. He offered advice on how to navigate a tricky situation and offered solid advice on how to move forward on a car that would be better suited for my situation. He was so patient and thorough with me and went far beyond what I could ever expect. I had my two small kids with me and they even got a tour of his many 'puzzles' he was working on. Got to see some sweet cars, hear what a badass engine sounds like and test some infrared : ) Truly if you're looking for a Mechanic who knows what he's doing, HONEST and overall great person. I couldn't recommend Paulo at Benicia Motorworks enough. I will definitely have him look over and maintain my future car. Five Stars.

I was told by my auto body shop "Friend" that my 2010 Mini Cooper has a blown Turbo. I had oil suddenly leaking everywhere. He said sell the car. Luck for me, I took it to Paulo. He went through the car, repaired several things. He was so honest and informed me that my Turbo was fine. He saved me money and returned my car running like new. Worth every penny. The only shop my Mini will be going from now on!
